In terms of pseudo-physical rules, solidity is explained as the intent to convey the fact that entities in a gameworld have mass and take up space. It applies to games in which two entities cannot occupy the same space at the same time. This is commonly evidenced when a player controlled entity is not allowed to walk through walls.
