Audio display hardware encompasses any device used to communicate aural output from the game to players. This can consist of any number of speakers in a variety of arrangements, from a single speaker to multi-speaker surround sound setups. As the audio hardware available to players can vary, many games try to allow for a variety of audio device arrangements, using sophisticated speaker arrangements if available, but not requiring advanced speaker arrangements for proper gameplay.
